Hi there!
I just wanted to say that investigation
in "The Enemy" became not only police’s deal but also a main
character’s. Malcolm was questioned by the policemen because he was the only
one who stayed at home while everyone went to the hospital with Gillian. George
Ashton and Penny returned home with bad news – Gillian was not so well because the
acid was really strong. Malcolm suggested that one of the members of this
family has an enemy and try to found it out. Strange things start to occur. Talking
to Ashton concerned Malcolm because he said to marry Penny quickly and offered a
job in Australia. He knew nothing about Ashton’s company and if he was an owner
or not. To get to know the truth, Malcolm sneaked into the computer’s data
base; and after a large number of attempts to reach an answer, he got it. It
would not be such an interesting story without being caught by somebody. So, his
boss was interested in the purpose of the information he got and their
connection between Malcolm and Ashton. We met a new character – Ogilvie – who became
a coworker of Malcolm. They started to work on the plan to protect Ashton’s
family. The most long-awaited moment finally occurred – Malcolm decided to
propose to Penny and she agreed!
Well, that were several main things happened in the book. Now I am
drowned in this story and looking forward to the next events and choices made
by characters. If I had a chance to ask a question to the author, it would be
why a boss appeared in the plot. Was it just to hook a reader more? For me, the
most exciting moment was the propose. I expected it a bit later, after all
these troubles with search for the “enemy” of this family.
Thanks, love and peace!💗👯😊
Hi Lana - I've never read this book, but I am intrigued by your posts. I think I would like to read it. Since Malcolm proposed earlier than expected, do you think that some problems will arise to prevent their marriage? That could make an interesting twist in the plot.
