Hi everyone! Hope that you spend good time while reading your books. Now I mentioned many new and interesting events in a book, "Oliver Twist" by Charles Dickens, which I want to share with you. The story in workhouse is really rude; he spend a few days being there, but these days were very awful. All boys from workhouse were always hungry because they had only thin soup and bread only on Sundays, so you can imagine how was that. One day the boys decided that Oliver should ask the master to add more food, as a result, he was in prison. Then, hopefully, one man Mr. Sowerberry picked Oliver to his house and Oliver should work with this man. The work was scary because Oliver went with Mr. Sowerberry to collect the bodies. Uwwww, scary. The atmosphere in this shop was not good, Oliver slept among the coffins, Noah, charity-boy, always tried to hurt Oliver because Oliver’s mum died and had bad status in society. After the conflict with Noah, he decided to go to London, this trip was very long, he slept in the forest, requested water and food in different houses, so it was very hard for Oliver. One day strange boy helped Oliver, and his name was Jack Dawkins, but usually called “The Artful Dodger”. At this moment, I stopped, and I am very curious to continue reading this book.
I’m glad that Oliver left this work and started to change his life. It is very hard to imagine that all way to London he went and didn’t give up. His life during this period was so complicated, and I’m proud that he decided to move. Moreover, I felt really frightened when I was reading about his work and life in the Mr. Sowerberry’s shop, but he was brave and took some lessons after this scary “trips” houses where were bodies. However, I’m not sure that Jack will help Oliver to find his good life. I think that the author specifically create this character at first with good and positive attitudes, but then something bad will happen. Of course I’m not sure about this, it is only my predictions, but usually good characters in the end or in the middle of the book become a negative one. Hope, that Oliver will find a good life, a right way and everything in his life will be ok.

Hi Vicky - Oliver's life does not get easier, but it's good to see that he has some spirit to try to survive and improve his life. It sounds like you are suspicious of Jack Dawkins. I think I would be suspicious, too, since in Oliver's world there don't seem to be many kind people. I hope Jack turns out to be one of them.
